Dr. Guang Ning is an endocrinologist and member of Chinese Academy of Engineering; Chairman of the Chinese Society for Clinical Endocrinologists; Director of National Clinical Research Center for Metabolic Diseases; Director of Key Laboratory of Metabolic Diseases, National Health and Family Planning Commission of P. R. China; Director of Shanghai Institute of Metabolic Diseases; Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism; Co-Editor-in-Chief of Editor of Journal of Diabetes; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Endocrinology、Journal of Molecular Endocrinology; advisory board member of Nature Review of Endocrinology.
Dr. Ning dedicated his career to the clinical and scientific research in metabolic diseases and obtained many innovation achievements in diabetes and endocrinological tumor. He is the awarded by National Science Fund as Distinguished Young Scholar, and a member of the Executive Committee of International Endocrine Society.
He supervised over 20 national and regional research projects funded by National Science Foundation, Ministry of Technology, Ministry of Education, and National Basic Research Program (973 Program).
Dr. Ning has published over 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Science, JAMA, Nat Genet, Nat Cell Biol, J Am Coll Cardiol and Lancet Diabetes Endocrinol. He won National Science and Technical Progress Awards (2nd class) in 2008, 2010 and 2012 respectively (two rank first place and one rank second place), Chinese Physician Award, Wu Jieping Medicine Innovation Prize, in China and is presented with International Endocrinology Award by American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and with The Lifetime Achievement Award by Israel Diabetes Association and Ministry of Health.
He is elected as a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2015.
