Sun Kun

the member of the Communist Party of China, M.D., Chief Surgeon, Doctoral Supervisor, the expert with State Council special allowance. Dr. Sun is the President of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Medicine School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, the director of Shanghai Children’s Medical Center Affiliated to Medicine School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and the Dean of the faculty of Paediatrics in Shanghai Jiaotong University. Dr. Sun received the Bachelor of Medicine from Wenzhou Medical University in 1985. In 1987 he was accepted as a master student in Medicine by Shanghai Jiaotong University, and in 1998, he received the Doctoral Degree of Medicine. In 1999, he started working in Medicine School of Shanghai Jiaotong University as chief surgeon and Professor. In 1997 and 1999, he went to Grantham Hospital and Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Harvard University and completed advance study in Paediatrics, respectively. In 2004, he studied in the School of Public Health and the School of Public Policy in the University of California.  

Dr. Sun is one of the leading persons in the key paediatrics programs of the State Education Commission of the PRC, also, he directs the paediatrics program under Project 211. Sun is the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Paediatric Society of Chinses Medical Association, the Director of the Chinese Paediatric Society of Chinese Doctor Association, the Director of the Ultrasonic Diagnosis Society of Shanghai Medical Association, the group leader of cardiac branch under the Chinese Paediatric Society of Chinses Medical Association, the chairman of the Asia Pacific Pediatric Cardiac Society, and the director of the hereditary diseases branch under the Chinese Paediatric Society of Chinses Medical Association. 

Dr Kun is an expert in paediatrics diseases diagnosis and treatment, including the pathology of paediatric cardiovascular diseases, imaging diagnosis, interventional treatment, and infant congenital heart disease diagnosis. He has directed a number of research projects and published over 200 research papers, of which 48 were recorded by SCI. Dr Kun is also an inventor, with nine patents for inventions. He has received 10 awards on education, and 10 awards on academic research.
